here’s a 10 deck from the dusty realms of my hard drive. a few of them were in the rarely openend ‘keep for the wizard 2′ folder, other just lying there homeless since the day they were shot. some grand memories from days on the roads and in the streets.
john fleming at a spot that now lies under 10 000 tonnes of hardfill and tarmacadam. we rarely get fine spots like you see in the mags in this land, and almost never in Derry. This was a wheeker that we skated about thrice before the bulldozers moved in.

from the wizard 2 files. dlynn backside method air at the world’s smallest vert ramp, impossible!

an ancient pic but a trick that would fully stand up today. nollie flip down the courthouse steps in derry. a rare smooth step spot in this town, joe has laid his trademark tech gnar skills all over it in the past decade

al collins at ‘the lost skatepark’ in sligo. this park was as rough as the Pope’s arse when it was first threw togther possibly 12 years ago. it’s coastal proximity has left it wide open to the worst weather the skies and the seas have to offer. all said it was a fun spot and felt like diving into a shipwreck, there were loads of ramp skeletons and stuff lying there abandoned for years. backside tailslide

a few years ago there was a lot of talk of the skateable fullpipe bridge in Co Clare. not long after seeing a video of some BMXers riding it we hit the road in search of its ancient transition. on closer inspection we found the river beneath flooding high duie to rainstorms, and the innerds of the pipe not really skateable (???) , and we found that Lisdoonvarna is a shithole.

gary campbell has been skating NCP carpark as a local for 15 odd years. he rules the joint and indeed he rules skateboarding. one of ireland’s greatest natural talents, right up there with Bernard and Conhuir. a knee injury took him out for a few years but he’s still got insanely good skills. 360 flip, worm’s eye vision

under the stars at van city 1. in the pit amongst the rubble you see petemcevoy, richie, andy devine, mini brown. classic tour, classic night in my life, if you get the chance to sleep rough and skate at 6am, my advice is to go do it….your grandkids won’t be as impressed with stories of Travelodges and nightclubs

alan healy portrait on the craigavon bridge. this is maybe 10 years old. i remember shooting this after seeing a 5boro add with steve rodriguez skating through traffic in Manhatten. we tried to recreate it through traffic across the bridge but it was totally nuts, cars flying straight at us and the camera flash blasting flat out, some craic but no result! Earlier that night we skated the volcano, weep, weep salad days

this is Jezza from Orstralia, an honourary Irishman. i think he was in this land building the Greystones park at the time and arrived into derry on the bus without warning. we skated shipquay street hill and bombed through the town to Porters bar. later we heaed to the bogside to take a skate pic, as ye do at 11pm. George Best had died the day before

Dave Hurley led us to this pipe in Stab City, I’d venture that it was the best fullpipe I’ve ever skated in Ireland. Massive, brand new, smooth and solid as fuck. This photo appeared in Sidewalk years ago as part of a Bruce interview
